March 2, 2016 – The first demo meeting of what would soon become the Toastmasters club of Genoa attracted many curious and public speaking enthusiasts. The enthusiasm and participation laid the foundations for the club’s creation, which was officially recognized by Toastmasters International just a month later.
October 2016 – Only six months after its foundation, the Toastmasters club of Genoa hosted its first Area Contest. The event brought together members from across Area G2 to celebrate public speaking and leadership, with inspiring speeches, evaluations, and networking moments marking a major milestone for the young club.
March 2018 – The Erzelli Toasters club played the role of mentor club for the launch of The Lighthouse Toastmasters Genoa, the city’s second Toastmasters club. The first meeting took place on March 15 during World Speech Day, marking a new chapter in Genoa’s growing Toastmasters movement.
April 2018 – The Division G Spring Conference 2018 of Toastmasters International was held in Genoa, bringing together members from Italy, Greece, and Cyprus. The event featured training workshops, public speaking contests, and networking sessions, helping participants sharpen both their communication and leadership skills.
July 2018 — An afternoon of fun and networking: over 100 people including students, professionals, and visitors took part in the open-air table football tournament organized by Erzelli Toasters at the GREAT Campus. The event created a lively, informal opportunity for networking and for sharing the Toastmasters spirit outside the meeting room.
May 2019 – The "All Pathways Lead to Genoa" conference was a landmark event for the new District 109 of Toastmasters International. Organized by Erzelli Toasters and Lighthouse Genoa, the event welcomed Toastmasters from all over Europe for three days of inspiring speeches, interactive workshops, and cultural celebrations that strengthened community bonds and knowledge sharing.
March 2023 – The Area 2 Contest brought together the best speakers from Genoa, Como, and Monza for a day of public speaking challenges and educationals. Mauro Mosconi PhD, creator of Psycomix (the first comic-strip cards on logical fallacies), Andrea Buti (il Metavvocato), and Cristina Giambarresi led the workshops, offering valuable insights and training.
September 2024 – During the TEDx Genoa 2024 afternoon, together with Lighthouse Toastmasters Genoa, we presented the workshop "From Audience to Speaker": a hands-on opportunity to help attendees discover their own communication potential. The experience engaged participants of all ages in an interactive journey, turning listeners into speakers and inspiring new voices to take the stage. A special moment of training and sharing that made TEDx even more memorable for everyone.
December 2024 — In a truly special venue, the council hall of the Metropolitan City of Genoa hosted our Toastmasters Christmas meeting, organized with the official support of the local authorities. A unique public speaking, networking and community event — combining elegance, culture, and Toastmasters spirit in the historic heart of Genoa at Palazzo Doria Spinola.
March 2025 – For the Call 4 Ideas event organized by CyberTribu, members of Erzelli Toasters took on the role of public speaking coaches. We supported 12 local startup founders through an intensive training program, helping them refine their pitches and communicate more effectively before a panel of experts. A practical opportunity to put our skills into action and contribute to the growth of the innovation ecosystem.
18 June 2025 – What began as a regular Toastmasters session soon turned into an original murder-mystery investigation devised by the Erzelli Toasters: a staged crime scene with suspects, attorneys and witnesses, while the audience raced to identify the culprit. Through impromptu interrogations and hidden clues, participants sharpened active listening and public speaking skills in an atmosphere of suspense and fun.

Erzelli Toasters is a Toastmasters International club founded in 2016 in Genoa, at the Erzelli Science and Technology Park.
No! In a Toastmasters club, there are no teachers or students: all members have the opportunity to grow thanks to feedback and support from the other club members.
No! But our club is bilingual, so you can practice public speaking in either Italian or English, depending on your preferences.
That’s exactly what a Toastmasters club is: a training ground where you can improve by practicing, just as you would in a gym with weights and equipment! Here, we train with words!
If you want to improve your speaking and leadership skills—absolutely yes! Sooner or later, everyone finds themselves speaking in public: interviews, exams, presentations, social events. Practicing in a friendly, positive environment is the best way to grow and get better!
We meet every other Wednesday at the GREAT Campus: Genoa Science and Technology Park – Erzelli. Our meetings are hybrid, so you can join us in person or connect remotely via Zoom. Guests are always welcome, and participation is free! Sign up for our next meeting to get all the info you need to join us!
At our meetings, you'll hear prepared speeches by our members—who receive helpful feedback from the whole club—and enjoy the Table Topics session, where you can join in on-the-spot speaking if you like.
